Neil Jenkins, who is best known as an internationally acclaimed Tenor, has also been a choral conductor for many years. In the 1970s he formed the Kensington Consort, a small professional choir, which performed at the South Bank Concert Halls and at Festivals throughout the U.K. Its membership included the opera stars Sir Thomas Allen and Anne Collins at the beginning of their careers. Others who performed with the group include Brian Kay the broadcaster, Brian Rayner Cook, and Roger Vignoles the well known accompanist. At the beginning of the 1990s he began his association with the music publisher Kevin Mayhew, which led to Neil conducting his own choir, the Neil Jenkins Chorale, in commercial recordings of standard choral repertoire.
